You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect.

Write a letter to the bank.

Ielts General Training Writing Letters
Dear Sir,
It was a great shock to receive a letter from your bank stating that there was an overdraft of $240 in my account, and I would have to pay $70. I feel, there has been some communication gap, as this discrepancy is surely a case of gross negligence on account of your employees.

When I checked the statement of my account, I realized that the bank had transferred $240 to my insurance premium even though I had issued standing instructions about not transferring premium to the insurance company, as I had discontinued the policy.

However, I realize that your staff chose to ignore my instructions and issue a transfer off amount. This has caused me immense stress and inconvenience: I have been levied not only an extra charge on the over drawing but also the transaction fee. This is quite unwarranted, and I think the bank should take a stern action against such erring people.

I anticipate a quick response from your end and reversal of my money and charges wrongfully levied.

Thank you

Yours Sincerely,

Adolf Hitler.
